Our primary purpose is to reach our community with the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. It is our mission to bring the Word of God and our Savior’s love to this present world; to introduce the lost to the God of grace and mercy, love and kindness. We believe the best way to achieve this is to live what we preach and to be an example of Jesus to this world.

Pastor Bob Kaps

Pastor Bob and his wife have a passion for reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. What began in the living room of their home in Napoleon, Missouri years ago has blossomed into a growing, active church body. God led Pastor Bob to move their family to Buckner, Missouri. On the next block from their home was a small church with only 2 members left, 2 incredibly faithful ladies who simply would not let that little church die. In a short time, the living room meetings were simply bursting at the seams, while the 2 ladies around the block kept praying, having no clue about the little living room fellowship. Pastor Bob approached the ladies about renting the sanctuary on Thursday evenings, thinking that would keep them out of the way of the regular church folk , only to discover there WERE no regular church folk. When he learned the women literally had no pastor, he offered to be their pastor. One thing led to another, and after a lot MORE prayer, the little 2 person church and the living room fellowship become one! Under their leadership, Heart of God Fellowship has moved from Pastor Bob’s living room to a small church building that was on the next block from their home in Buckner, Missouri, to a church building in Independence, Missouri, BACK out to Buckner in a barn! Now, over 2 years later, we not only have services on what has become our main campus at 3720 North Buckner Tarsney Road in Buckner, Missouri, we have added 2 additional locations of worship, planting Heart of God Fellowship Innercity Church. And yes, both the original praying ladies are still there!

About that barn. The folks at Sibley Orchards learned of our dilemma looking for a temporary home while we finished our building across the road. They took our growing congregation in for a year with no strings; a gift of love we will never forget! And their fruit is the best in the world!

To worship, fellowship, inspire, and train

Pastor Kaps' goal for Heart of God Fellowship is to spread the Word of God and the good news of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to as many people as possible before Jesus comes back for His church. His personal goal is at least 1 person a day, and he’s very close to that goal!

While at the orchard, almost all church activities continued. Many people came to visit us even in the cold or heat.  We even had VBS, several dinners, programs, and special guests!!
