When you think of a missionary you probably think of some older couple off in a foreign land spreading the Word of God to a people that have never even heard the name of Jesus Christ. Well, yes, those kinds of missionaries do exist in the world, but that’s not the only place missionaries go. Sometimes the missionaries are needed a bit closer to home. In fact the mission field may just be on the next block!
Heart of God Fellowship has workers in several local mission fields. There is the work done to reach the lost of the streets at the City Union Mission. They are often overlooked and ignored, but God values them just as much as He values you!
There is the motorcycle outreach that works to spread the Gospel to the biker community and the groups that surround and interact with the community. This is a day to day struggle to overcome barriers and obstacles to old ways of thinking and acting to just get the Word of God in front of them. The rewards for the kingdom however are great. Once a year we hold a big rally for the biker community in April called Biker Sunday. We invite them to church for song, the Word, food, fellowship and blessing the bikes, because anyone who’s ever ridden a motorcycle knows you can always use any blessing you can get on your bike. We use the event to reach out to the community and let them know that they are welcome to attend, and will not be rejected on the Biker Sunday or any other Sunday.
Do you know one of the most forgotten mission fields around? The people in nursing homes, hospitals, and shut ins. Not everyone in a hospital is a child of God, but every one of them can be and should be just like any other group of people. God didn’t forget them, and neither will we.
We have a location in Meru, Kenya. Two of our most favorite people were called over there. They are “Mamma and Pappa” to many new family members who have come to them through God’s mercy. They have their own website you are welcome to visit. On their website, you will see information on becoming a sponsor for one of the many children they are blessed to minister to.

For more information on these missions, please see the folks in charge of each individual mission or speak to Pastor Bob. They will be happy to talk to you more about what the goals and needs they face.
